Support a Student's Education

Through Immaculate Heart's long history, generous alumnae, families and friends have contributed to our financial aid program. Gifts to both the Scholarship Endowment and the Annual Scholarship program provide financial assistance to young women whose families struggle to offer them the Immaculate Heart education they so strongly desire. During the 2019-2020 school year, $1.4 million in financial aid and scholarships were distributed to 212 students.
Over the years a number of named scholarship funds have been created. The funds highlighted below are just a few of the many named funds created to provide the support that Immaculate Heart needs to continue offering the greatest amount of financial aid to the greatest number of students. For more information on creating a named fund, or to donate to one not listed below, please contact Tim Cullen at (323) 361-4651,  ext. 253, or
Thank you for your interest and generosity.

Annual Financial Aid Scholarship Fund

This general scholarship fund is used to provide financial aid for Immaculate Heart families in need. With the unprecedented effects of COVID-19, many of our families who never imagined they would have trouble paying tuition are now without an income for the foreseeable future. A contribution to this fund will help Immaculate Heart provide these families with tuition support.

Black Scholars Initiative

This initiative was created to raise Financial Aid funds that are earmarked specifically for Immaculate Heart's Black students. The gifts received will provide annual financial aid awards to Black students in need of financial assistance.

Gertrude Dunn Memorial Scholarship

A gift to the Gertrude Dunn Memorial Endowed Scholarship Fund will support Black students for years to come. The Dunn family established this endowment in 1984 specifically to provide scholarships for Black students. Gifts to this Fund are invested for long-term growth, and a portion of the earnings are distributed as Financial Aid Scholarships each year.

Frances Snyder, IHM, was a woman ahead of her time. She led with a determined grace that guided her service to her community and to the many hundreds of young women at Immaculate Heart who were fortunate enough to be taught and mentored by her. The FRANCES Fund, created to honor her legacy, provides financial aid to young women who lack the resources to attend Immaculate Heart but who share the vision and mission of our beloved Frances.

We celebrate more than a century of nurturing the spiritual, intellectual, social and moral development of students as they distinguish themselves as women of great heart and right conscience.
