Volleyball Season Closes with Honors

Immaculate Heart's Athletic Department honored volleyball athletes at the close of their season with an awards banquet on Monday, November 4.
"Our volleyball teams had a strong season, finishing fourth in the Sunshine League," Athletic Director Maureen Rodriguez said. "Our new coaches, Shannon Helm and Giannina Campos, were excellent, and the girls worked hard for them all season. The two made a great pair. With their professinalism and dedication, our program is only going to get better."

Helm coached the freshman and varsity teams, with Campos, an alumna from the Class of 2009, coaching the junior varsity team.

Speaking about the athletes on all teams, Rodriguez continued, "I am so very proud of these young ladies, who played each game with tremendous heart, passion and drive. They embody what IH Athletics is all about."

At the banquet, all teams honored their standout athletes. In addition to team awards, seniors Stephanie Elize and Bianca Johnson received league recognition for their outstanding seasons as varsity players. Elize was named to 1st Team All Sunshine League, and Johnson was named to 2nd Team All Sunshine League.
