Genesians' "Caroline, or Change" Cast

“Caroline, or Change,” the Genesians’ production shut down by the pandemic shortly before opening night in March 2020, will get its moment on the Immaculate Heart stage this summer thanks to IHHS alumni! Many from the original cast will join alums from the last 10 years for the Broadway musical, which tells the story of Caroline Thibodeaux, a Black maid whose world in 1963 Louisiana ripples with change.

Caroline AbbottCaroline Abbott, Class of 2021, starring as MR. STOPNIK

While at Immaculate Heart, Caroline Abbot starred in Genesians productions like “67 Cinderellas” and “The Crucible,” and she returns to the stage to play the role of Mr. Stopnik, Rose Gellman’s father, which she had been preparing for before the pandemic cancelled the original 2020 production of “Caroline, or Change.”
Addison AlaimoAddison Alaimo, Class of 2022, starring as THE MOON

Addison Alaimo is a rising senior at Immaculate Heart High School and was part of the original cast for “Caroline, or Change” when the production was cancelled in March of 2020. She will reprise her original role of the Moon for this “Reunion Show.”
Jaddia Pearl AnJaddia Pearl An, Class of 2022, starring as STUART GELLMAN

A rising senior at Immaculate Heart High School, Jaddia Pearl An plays Stuart Gellman, the husband and father of the family Caroline works for in “Caroline, or Change.” As part of the original cast of the cancelled 2020 production, she is excited to return for this special “Reunion Show.”
Emilee AndersonEmilee Anderson, Class of 2020, starring as EMMIE THIBODEAUX

No stranger to the stage after her career in the Genesians during her time at Immaculate Heart, Emilee Anderson, now an undergraduate at UCLA, is excited to finally play the role of Emmie Thibodeaux, Caroline's daughter, after the original 2020 production was cancelled.

Sahiba Bola, Class of 2022, starring as JOE THIBODEAUX

Sahiba Bola is a rising senior at Immaculate Heart High School and was part of the original cast of the cancelled 2020 production of “Caroline, or Change.” She plays Joe Thibodeaux, Caroline’s 8-year-old son.
Katie BuderwitzKatie Buderwitz, Class of 2011, starring as GRANDMA GELLMAN

10 years after her graduation, Katie Buderwitz her turns to Immaculate Heart to play Grandma Gellman, the grandmother of the family for whom Caroline works. After IH, Buderwitz received her degree from UCLA’s School of Theater, Film & Television and went on to study at Lesly Kahn & Company where she is now employed as a teacher.
Angela EchaorreAngela Echaorre, Class of 2023, starring as JACKIE THIBODEAUX

Angela Echaorre is a rising junior at Immaculate Heart High School, and was part of the original cast of the cancelled 2020 production of “Caroline, or Change.” She plays Jackie Thibodeaux, Caroline’s 10-year-old son.
Brianna Ellis-MitchellBrianna Ellis-Mitchell, Class of 2012, starring as THE RADIO

During her time at Immaculate Heart, Brianna Ellis-Mitchell was not only an actor, but also worked as a graphic and set designer for the Genesians. Since graduating, she received her degree from Loyola Marymount University and worked in brand marketing for Hollywood giants Shonda Rhimes and Reese Witherspoon’s production companies. She has now landed at startup makeup brand Lime Crime where she leads all their social channels and influencer initiatives. She stars as a member of the Greek Chorus-esque Radio quartet.
Quinlan FitzgeraldQuinlan Fitzgerald, Class of 2011, starring as ROSE GELLMAN

Quinlan Fitzgerald comes back to Immaculate Heart to play Rose Gellman, the new wife and stepmother of the family Caroline works for in theupcoming production of “Caroline, or Change.” After graduating from UC Santa Barbara, Fitzgerald was active in the Portland theater scene and worked as an organizational development consultant for tech and nonprofit organizations. She has since returned to L.A. where she has released an original album and currently works with the social impact agency Propper Daley.
Khafira FreemanKhafira Freeman, Class of 2020, starring as CAROLINE THIBODEAUX

Khafira Freeman, known for stealing the show in Genesians productions like “Anything Goes,” returns to reprise the role of Caroline, which she was originally slated to play until the 2020 production of “Caroline, or Change” was cancelled. She is now enrolled at New York University’s TISCH School of Performing Arts and has released her debut EP “Sagittarius Babey” in addition to working as a production assistant at HollandWest Productions.
Keana Rose HilarioKeana Rose Hilario, Class of 2020, starring as THE BUS/THE DRYER

Keana Rose Hilario was part of the original 2020 cast of “Caroline, or Change” when it was cancelled in March 2020. She returns to reprise her dual role of the Bus and the Dryer in this special “Reunion Show.”
Gabriella KarakiGabriella Karaki, Class of 2017, starring as THE RADIO

Gabriella Karaki, who has studied in Italy and traveled around the world since Immaculate Heart, is now majoring in musical theater at the American Music Dramatic Academy. She returns to IH as a member of the Greek Choir-esque Radio quartet.
Francesca PresbyFrancesca Presby, Class of 2020, starring as DOTTY MOFFETT

Part of the original cast in the cancelled 2020 production, Francesca Presby returns to reprise her role as Dotty Moffett, Caroline's friend. Since graduating from Immaculate Heart, she has enrolled at the University of Portland and is majoring in elementary education.
Victoria RingoVictoria Ringo, Class of 2013, starring as GRANDPA GELLMAN

Following Immaculate Heart, Victoria attended UC Riverside where she was nominated for a KCACTF award for her role of Isabella in “Measure for Measure.” She recently returned to Los Angeles after living in Chicago for two years and is so excited to return to the IH stage as Grandpa Gellman, the grandfather of the family for whom Caroline works.

After starring in Genesians productions like “Anything Goes,” “67 Cinderellas” and “The Crucible” during her time as a student, Canela Roey returns to Immaculate Heart and to the role of Noah, the child of the family Caroline works for, for this “Reunion Show” of “Caroline, or Change.”

Daniela Salazar is a rising senior at Immaculate Heart, and part of the original cast of the cancelled 2020 production of “Caroline, or Change.” In this “Reunion Show,” she'll reprise her role as a member of the Greek Chorus-esque Radio quartet.
Christianne TubolaChristianne Tubola, Class of 2021, starring as THE WASHER

Christianne Tubola was part of the original 2020 cast of “Caroline, or Change” when it was cancelled in March 2020. She returns to reprise her dual role of the Washer in this special “Reunion Show.”
Stephanie TurnerStephanie Turner, Class of 2012, starring as THE RADIO

After Immaculate Heart, Stephanie Turner graduated from Wheaton College and now works as an administrative assistant and youth mental health first aid instructor at the West Angeles Counseling Center, which offers affordable mental health services. She is excited to come back to Immaculate Heart to be a member of the Greek Chorus-esque Radio quartet.
