Student Life

Leadership

THIS IS WHERE WE LEAD.
At Immaculate Heart, leadership is woven into student life, encouraging personal growth, responsibility, and community. From middle school through high school, students take on roles as government reps, club officers, and team captains, developing skills in communication, collaboration, and decision-making, learning to lead with character, build trust, and uplift others. These experiences instill confidence and a strong sense of purpose, equipping IH graduates to navigate a rapidly changing world as women of great heart and right conscience.

Many Paths to Leadership

Leadership takes unlimited forms at Immaculate Heart, empowering students to make a difference in their own ways. From standing on a stage rallying fellow students to setting an example as an athlete, on and off the court, our Pandas cultivate authentic confidence. Leadership also manifests in acts of kindness, collaboration, and advocacy, reflecting the values of courage, compassion, and integrity that define our community.

Student Government

Both Middle & High School student government allows students to take an active role in shaping their community. Through organizing events, representing their peers, and fostering school spirit, they develop essential skills like collaboration, communication, public speaking, and decision-making.

Athletics

Leadership in athletics at Immaculate Heart shines through team captains who inspire their peers with dedication, and all players who demonstrate commitment to teamwork and sportsmanship. By modeling resilience and encouraging camaraderie, they help their teams achieve success both on and off the field.

Clubs & Activities

Leadership roles in clubs and activities empower students to pursue their passions while guiding their peers. From organizing events to fostering collaboration within their groups, student leaders create opportunities for connection, creativity, and personal growth.

Community Service

Encouraging students to step into leading roles in community service efforts reflects our commitment to compassion and action. By organizing drives, volunteering, and leading service initiatives, students inspire others to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those in need.

Student Ministry

Leadership in worship allows students to deepen their faith while guiding others in spiritual growth. Through planning liturgies, serving as readers, or leading prayer services and retreats, student ministers and retreat leaders foster a sense of unity and reflection within the school community.

A Catholic, independent college preparatory school for girls in grades 6 through 12, Immaculate Heart has been located on a beautiful hillside property in the Los Feliz area of Los Angeles since our founding by the Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary in 1906. We celebrate more than a century of nurturing the spiritual, intellectual, social and moral development of students as they distinguish themselves as women of great heart and right conscience.
