What is the first thing that comes to mind when you hear the words “The WALK”?
When I hear the words “The WALK,” I think of the school community coming together to raise funds for students. Over the years, that’s taken the form of campus improvement projects like adding SmartTVs in every classroom to enhance class interactivity and participation and installing water dispensers around campus to increase hydration and reduce our use of single-use plastics. And recently, those funds have directly supported our Financial Aid Fund, which allows us to offer a world-class Immaculate Heart education to students in need. I also love seeing the student artists’ designs each year for the logos on the WALK t-shirts, bags and sweatshirts! On the day of the WALK, students, faculty, staff and parents walk around Los Feliz enjoying the beautiful views and the wonderful company, culminating in a fun-filled meal and games with friends and colleagues. It is one of the school traditions that I most look forward to!
What is your favorite spot on campus?
My favorite spot on campus is the dining terrace of the school cafeteria. I enjoy the walk up to the cafeteria and, after all my effort, I am rewarded with a beautiful view of the IH campus.
What has been your favorite place to travel? Where would you like to travel next?
Greece is beautiful. It has a variety of different activities, from leisure to learning. In Athens, I enjoyed visiting and learning about ancient ruins at the Acropolis Museum. On Mykonos, I enjoyed relaxing on its beautiful beaches and visiting the ruins on the nearby island of Delos. Santorini included unforgettable geography, beautiful sunsets and more ruins! I can’t wait to visit Costa Rica! I love outdoor activities and Costa Rica’s diverse landscape should make for a fun trip!
